Rock Band Camp

Seattle Drum School of Music Summer Band Camps return for 2025, with an improved selection of themes to choose from!
Band Camps are one-week programs during the summer, 9am to 2pm Monday through Friday, for ages 10-17.
This year we are offering Rock Band, Contemporary Music Band, Jazz Band, Digital Music Production, + Introducing Rhythms of Cuba & Brazil Band Camps.
Young musicians will collaborate with an industry professional to gain valuable rehearsal skills; practice musical ettiquette; and learn, write and arrange music that they agree upon as a group in preparation for their show at the end of the week!
- Week-long camps are held from the end of June through August.
- 9am–2pm, Monday-Friday (campers bring lunch/snacks.)
- Open to ages 10-17*.
- * Band Camps require a minimum of 2 years experience on their instrument & the ability to independently learn songs (so that camp is spent learning to play together rather than mastery of the instrument.) If the student’s skill level is in question, we will coordinate a pre-assessment by the camp instructor.
- Backline is provided (drums, piano, amps). Campers are expected to bring their own sticks, guitar/bass/cords, ear protection.
- A camp is usually 3-6 students per band. An example of this might look like: a vocalist, keyboard player, guitar player, and 2 drummers.
- We will request two form signatures:
- Parent/guardian signatures on the first day of camp for a photo/video release (so we can livestream their Friday concert);
Student + parent/guardian signatures for a Band Agreement stating that the student understands the expectations of BE SAFE, BE RESPECTFUL, and BE COMMITTED & HAVE FUN.
The final performance (Friday of camp week at 1pm) is not to be missed by family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who loves to see the unbelievable results of five days of collaboration and magic. We will also livestream on our YouTube for those who cannot attend performances in-person.
Camps are offered at both our Lake City (N Seattle) and Georgetown (S Seattle) schools.
