*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 05/14/2022
The Seattle Sings Choral Festival is live once again! Puget Sound choirs are excitedly gearing up in preparation for the return of the Seattle Sings Choral Festival, live on Saturday, May 14, 2022. Sixteen choirs of all kinds and from across the region will present a dazzling variety of styles; from Bach to barbershop, Finnish to jazz, Broadway to classical, symphonic size to chamber music intimacy, there is something to please every taste.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

As festival co-chair Scott Kovacs says, “I can’t imagine a time when we need choral singing more than right now, and to be returning to the Seattle Sings Choral Festival feels like good medicine for us all!”

The festival is thrilled to collaborate with Northwest composer and University of Washington choral professor Giselle Wyers. In what has become a festival tradition, the Greater Seattle Choral Consortium commissions a work especially for the festival. Dr. Wyers’ "Join in Gathering," first introduced at the Festival Online Showcase in October 2021, is her contribution as Composer-in-Residence. In keeping with this tradition, audience and choirs will join in singing a portion of this lovely piece. For more information and a complete listing of participating choirs, please visit us on the web at www.seattlesings.org (look for the “Festival” tab at the top), or you can email us at festival@seattlesings.org.

The festival runs Saturday May 14 from 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM at Seattle First Baptist Church. Admission is free; come and go as you please.

All state and local covid regulations will be observed; however, for the safety of our singers, volunteers, staff, and audience, stronger precautions might be requested.

The GSCC is a non-profit service organization that provides advocacy, support, resource sharing, and outreach to more than 90 choirs throughout the Puget Sound region. In keeping with our mission and vision, the GSCC is proud to gather together 16 of our member choirs in a one-day event of free public performances.
