Alliance Française de Seattle
The Alliance Française de Seattle is a local nonprofit located in Wallingford. As part of an international network of 834 Alliances around the world, it is dedicated to the promotion of the French language and Francophone cultures in the Puget Sound region. It specializes in teaching French as a foreign language and offers a wide range of classes, workshops, and cultural events.
During the summer term, students ages 6 to 12 get to discover or practice French during weekly summer camps combining French language and culture with the fun of a traditional summer camp. Camps are open to all children who are either complete beginner, beginner or intermediate in French. Campers aren’t expected to fluent from their camp experience, but they will go home having learned new words and phrases (and having made new friends!). Campers will have short French lessons and exercises with our interactive smartboard, games and outdoor play in beautiful Meridian Park, exploratory activities in the historical building of the Good Shepherd Center, and fun hands-on projects to get creative and collaborative around the camp’s theme.
The learning methods aim to engage various skills and encourage students' self-expression, and for students to experience French through a playful, action-oriented approach. Full-day camps (9am – 4pm) take place every week from July 10 to August 18, 2023.
Registration opens on February 21, 2023 at 9am Pacific: www.afseattle.org/
In addition, virtual reviews for teens and weekly classes for kids and youth will also be offered during the summer quarter. Registration for the regular summer quarter opens May 11, 2023.
