Early World Children's School
We believe that children are best prepared academically through hands-on experiences and quality social interaction. We are situated on a multi-acre campus which is convenient to downtown Bellevue and Microsoft and offers ample room for kids to run, play and learn. Our numerous outdoor play areas provide children areas to explore nature. Our healthy meals, year-round outdoor spaces, and well-trained caring staff are some of the reasons families have entrusted us with their children’s early learning since 1973.
Programs Offered
Toddlers (ages 12 months - 30 months)
Toddlers are extremely curious and active learners. They are eager to explore and to let you know what they like and what they need. Their language and literacy skills are growing and they are more able to vocalize, communicate and problem solve. They are able to think mathematically, noticing different colors and shapes, putting things in order by size, matching and sorting objects. They are even little scientists, trying to figure out how everything they get their hands on works.
Our art and science projects are designed to stimulate curiosity, creativity, and self-expression, along with excitement in learning how the world works. Our teachers foster this development by providing toddlers with all the tools and activities needed to grow and learn in a way that is developmentally appropriate and geared toward each child’s unique personality.
Preschool (ages 2 .5-3 years)
We use a proven curriculum to encourage literacy skills, mathematical problem-solving, social interactions, and the development of attention. Through simple inquiries, children are introduced to rich vocabulary and higher thinking skills such as planning, predicting, and drawing inferences. Each day, a science-based question provides structure for the days routine; children will explore activity centers that support the lesson. Activities in the various centers support hand-eye coordination, reading and handwriting skills. Children learn basic math principles by handling real objects and discussing them (as opposed to drill-based learning). Phonemic awareness and writing are woven into the curriculum.
Kindergarten-Prep (ages 4-5 years)
Our kindergarten-prep program continues and strengthens the development of higher level thinking skills. As children progress through pre-kindergarten the focus becomes on school readiness. Children are encouraged to become natural problem solvers. Our program strategically engages the child in activities such as phonemic awareness and other applicable reading and pre-writing activities, individualized handwriting instruction, exploration of science topics through discussion, classroom activities, and continued focus on mathematical concepts. Our pre-kindergarten program teaches children the skills they will need for kindergarten and beyond.
